Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer for a growing product portfolio in our Dulles, VA office.
Essential Functions:
Experienced network engineer with 6-15
years of experience with network systems architectures and requisite Linux background.
Responsible for supporting the design, documentation, requirements management, integration, troubleshooting and/or testing analysis of network architecture/operating systems and managing a skilled team of network technicians and engineers.
Roles & Responsibilities will include though not limited to the following:
Responsible for assisting in planning and implementing the necessary hardware, software and telecommunications equipment to maintain and/or enhance the customer's local and wide-area networksRecommend and implement network policies and procedures and ensure adherence to security proceduresTroubleshoot and resolve medium to complex network issuesProvide in-depth knowledge and technical expertise in the areas of design, installation, maintenance, and support of network infrastructure following established methodologies and processesPerform hardware scans, analysis, and documenting findings.
Support/facilitate customer meetings and ensure compliance with project requirementsPerform extensive root cause analysis, problem determination and support of technical issues related to routing and switching technologies, eg VPN, basic router configurations, firewalls, etc.
Self-motivated, able to work well independently and within inter-disciplinary engineering teams.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering/Computer Science related discipline and 10 years prior related experience, or 15
years related military or trade experience OR Graduate degree in Computer Science/Engineering discipline with 6 yearsNetwork systems integration, assembly or test experience requiredExperience developing/using scripting languages such as PERL, Python, Bash, etc.
requiredVerifiable Network/Sys Admin operations skill set and experience with network troubleshootingKnowledge of Linux operating systemsU.

Network+/Security
certificationsWorking knowledge of Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, BitbucketExperience installing certificates on Windows and web browsersKnowledge of object-oriented databases; MySql experience preferredKnowledge of networking elements, including TCP/IP protocols & ports, DNS, NAT, subnet masks, etc.
Experience interpreting connection logs & IP Config informationClearance:
Active Secret or above US Government security clearanceExcellent written and verbal communications skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
